LINDALE, Texas - Jesus R. Godines, 61, of Lindale, Texas, died Wednesday, October 17, 2007 in a Tyler hospital. He was born December 4, 1945 in Alice, Texas, to Domingo Sr. and Maria Ramirez Godines and grew up in Alice before moving to Lindale in 1974. He worked for Tyler Pipe Industries and was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Ricky Godines; and his father, Domingo Godines Sr.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Godines of Lindale; daughter, Priscilla Duncan of Lindale; two sons, Javier Godines and John Paul Godines, both of Tyler; mother, Maria Ramirez Godines of Lindale; brother, Domingo Godines Jr. of Lindale; sister Ramona De La Rosa of Grand Prairie; seven grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday , October 20, 2007, with a Rosary recited at 6 p.m. at the Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Home in Lindale.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 21, 2007 in the Holy Family Catholic Church in Lindale with Father Mark Dunne officiating. Christian burial will follow in the Lindale City Cemetery.

SAN DIEGO, Texas - Marsela Guillerma "Mema" Laso, 77, passed away Friday, October 19, 2007. She was born on January 31, 1930 in Taft, Texas, to Benito and Catarina Torres.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Ismael Torres.

Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Rogelio Laso Sr.; three sons, Homero (Belma) Laso of Corpus Christi, Texas, Rogelio (Vickie) Laso Jr. and Rene Laso, both of San Diego, Texas; five daughters, Maria Hilda Laso of San Diego, Texas, Angelmira (Carlos) Trevino of Beeville, Texas, Edelmira (Benito) Rios of Corpus Christi, Texas, Maria Catalina (Trace) Weaver of Corpus Christi, Texas, Rebecca (Paul) Flores of Corpus Christi, Texas; her brother, Benito (Soila) Torres Jr.; 21 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and numerous nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, October 21, 2007 at Garza Funeral Home in San Diego, Texas, with a Rosary to be recited at 6 p.m. that same evening.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 22, 2007 at St. Francis De Paula Catholic Church in San Diego, Texas. Burial will follow at the Rodriguez Cemetery in La Parrita Community, Texas.
