ORANGE GROVE, Texas - Minnie Brand Klaevemann, 92, passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at her residence. She was born April 16, 1915 in Orange Grove, Texas. She was a homemaker and steamstress. She was also a member of the Faith Church UCC in Orange Grove where she taught Sunday school and served in many other capacities. She also was a 4-H leader. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph Klaevemann; and by one grandson.

Survivors include two daughters, Dorothy (Aubrey) Browning of Orange Grove, Texas, and Betty (Roy) Bertram of Three Rivers, Texas; five grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 18, 2007 with the family present from 2 to 3 p.m. at Dobie Funeral Home Chapel in Mathis. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, November 19, 2007 at the Faith Church UCC in Orange Grove. Interment will follow in the Sons of Hermann Cemetery in Orange Grove.

Salinas

ALICE, Texas - Olivia Rodriguez Salinas passed away on November 10, 2007 in Stockton, Calif., at the age of 86 after a short illness. She had resided in California for the last four years, sharing her love with family members and staff at Golden Haven Residential Care Facility.

Olivia was born and raised in Alice, Texas, having been born April 9, 1921 and is one of 10 siblings from the blessed marriage of Reyes and Petra Rodriguez.

Olivia enjoyed sports, playing card games and visiting with family and friends. She is now home with the Lord and blessed in the eyes of the Lord for the person she was on earth.

Olivia was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Antonia Rojas, Natalia Gonzalez and Genoveva Perez; brothers, Pedro, Reyes, Tiburcio and Juan Rodriguez; and her husband and father of her children, Aurelio G. Chapa, a casualty of World War II in Europe.

Survivors include her husband, Ramiro Salinas of Alice, Texas; her loving son, Aurelio R. (Evangelina) Chapa of Valley Springs, Calif.; sister, Lydia Wright of Los Gatos, Calif.; and brother, Gilberto Rodriguez of Oakland, Calif. She was the caring, beloved grandmother of Aurelio Javier (Mamie) Chapa of Danville, Calif., Arman Omar Chapa of San Jose, Calif.; and great-grandmother of Karian Chapa of San Jose, Calif. Twelve nieces and nephews also survive her.

A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday, November 16, 2007 at the Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home of Alice, Texas. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 17, 2007 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial following at the New Collins Cemetery in Alice, Texas.
