Gonzalez

Olivia G. Gonzalez, 89, a lifetime resident of San Diego, Texas died Friday, July 6, 2007 in a Corpus Christi nursing home. She was a member of St. Francis De Paula Catholic Church and a member of the Catholic Daughters and Altar and Rosary Society.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar S. Gonzalez Sr.; two brothers, Luis Felipe Garcia and Lorenzo Garcia.

Survivors include her son, Oscar S. Gonzalez of Corpus Christi, Texas; two granddaughters, Priscilla (John) Iden of Katy, Texas and Estela Marie Holman of Colorado Springs, Col.; her sister, Maria Estela Barkley of Corpus Christi, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, July 8, 2007 at the Garza Funeral Home in San Diego, Texas. Vigil observance of the deceased and Rosary to be recited at 6 p.m. that same evening. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 9, 2007 at St. Francis De Paula Catholic Church in San Diego, Texas. Burial will follow at the San Diego Cemetery in San Diego.

Joslin

Rosario Guerra Joslin, 56, died Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at her residence after an illness. A lifelong resident of Alice, she was employed as a medical billing clerk. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mario Saenz Guerra.

Joslin is survived by her husband, Ramon Joslin of Alice; father, Miguel Guerra of Alice; four brothers, Rolando, Miguel Jr., Noe Mario and Danny Guerra, all of Alice; four sisters, Gloria Guerra, Sylvia Cuevas, Marylou Guerra and Belinda Cuevas, all of Alice.

Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m., Sunday, July 8, 2007 at Walker-Mora Funeral Home Chapel in Alice. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, July 9, 2007 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial to follow at New Collins Cemetery-Alice.

Martinez

ALICE, Texas - Gilivaldo Martinez, 76, died July 6, 2007 in an Alice hospital after a long illness. He was a former foreman for Jim Wells County Precinct One for 15 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilberto and Jesusa Hernandez Martinez; one daughter, Delma Gonzalez; three brothers, Abelino, Gilberto Jr. and Adan Martinez; and one sister, Aurora Suarez.

Survivors include his son, David (Mary Lou) Martinez of Kingsville, Texas; three daughters, Dalia Martinez and Melba M. Gonzalez, both of Alice, Texas, and Delfina (Ray) Alejandro of Ben Bolt, Texas; two brothers, Guadalupe (Gomecinda) Martinez and Amando Martinez, both of Alice; 18 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Rosary will be recited Monday, July 9, 2007 at 7 p.m. at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home Chapel in Alice. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Alice.

Military graveside services will be conducted by the United Burial Association of Alice and burial will follow at Lara's Cemetery at Lara's Community.
