Rodrigo Aguilar Sr., 38, of Alice and an employee of Grey Wolf Drilling Co. passed away Thursday, April 26, 2007.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Dimas Jasso; and a nephew.

He is survived by his wife, Joanne M. Aguilar of Corpus Christi; one son, Rodrigo Aguilar Jr. of Corpus Christi; one daughter, Marisa Aguilar of Alice; his mother, Juana (Jose) Charles of Alice; his father, Rodrigo (Tina) Aguilar of Odessa, Texas; two sisters, Hilda (Juan) Rivera of Alice and Ysenia (Michael) Ramirez of Odessa; six brothers, George (Elsa) Aguilar of Alice, Fermin R. Aguilar of Odessa, Fernando (Penny) Aguilar, Rigo (Gabby) Aguilar, Roy Aguilar and Javier (Sylvia) Aguilar, all of Odessa; maternal grandmother, Julia Jasso of Presidio, Texas; his in-laws and numerous nieces and nephews.

ORANGE GROVE - Epifania R. (Ortiz) Alaniz, 69, passed away Monday, April 23, 2007 in a local hospital following a long illness.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Sylvia Ortiz; and three granddaughters.

Survivors include five children, Martha (Danny) Delgado of Orange Grove, Noe (Debbie) Ortiz of Alice, Ana Ortiz of Orange Grove, Erasmo (Nadia) Ortiz of Orange Grove and Leandra (Chris) Gallegos of Skidmore, Texas; sisters, Fidencia Cuevas of George West, Romana Palomin of Sundown, Texas, Conrada Garcia of Sundown, Texas and Maria (Jesus) Perez of Alfred, Texas; brothers, Matilde Rodriguez of Orange Grove and Estevan (Yolanda) Rodriguez of Orange Grove; a sister-in-law, 18 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

WEBSTER, Texas - Mario M. Garcia, 56, passed away on April 24, 2007 at Christus St. John Hosptial in Houston after a short illness. He was a beloved son, father, brother and uncle who was born December 20, 1950 in Alice to Eusebio L. Garcia Jr. and Antonia Moya Garcia.

He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Olivero Garcia.

Survivors include his wife, Delia Garcia of Webster, Texas; mother, Antonia Garcia of Alice; aunt, Dolores Gomez of Indiantown, Fla.; brother, Eusebio (Patricia) Garcia III of Alice; sister, Alicia (Homer) McKenzie of Houston; daughter, Sandra Derringer of San Antonio; son, Mario (Monica) Garcia Jr. of Alice; five grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Manuela Garza, 78, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2007 in a Corpus Christi hospital following a short illness. She was a member of Del Cielo Adult Day Care.

He was a 2006 graduate of Ben Bolt High School.

Melissa C. Gonzalez, 45, passed away April 19, 2007 in a Corpus Christi hospital after a sudden illness. She was an avid bowler and a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan.

She was a graduate of Texas A&M University Kingsville with a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hermilo and Maria "Lupita" Carreno. She is survived by her husband, Rolando L. Gonzalez of Alice, Texas; two sons, Javier Adrian (Alona) Gonzalez and Nicholas Gonzalez, both from San Antonio, Texas; one brother, Hermilo "Sonny" (Lisa) Carreno, Jr. from Goshen, Ind.; one sister, Belinda (Chris) Forrest from Clear Lake, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews.

KINGSVILLE - Leonarda "Leo" Delagarza, 77, and a longtime resident of Alice, passed away Friday, April 20, 2007.

She was born August 21, 1929 to Francisca and Antonio Leal.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a son, Arnold Galvan.

She is survived by her sister, Francisca Mendoza and numerous nieces and nephews.

Thomas R. Oaks Sr. passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2007. He owned Tom's Asphalt for more than 30 years and Tom's Septic Tank Service since 1986.

Villarreal

PREMONT - Ramiro Villarreal, 75, passed away April 24, 2007 after battling pancreatic cancer.

He retired from the DEA in 1986.

He loved his job and regaled all who knew him with stories of his time as an agent.

He was honored with numerous awards and commendations from the DEA and foreign governments. He also served in the U.S. Air Force.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Elisa Villarreal; daughter, Norma Anne Cavazos Villarreal; sons, Richard (Anna) David Villarreal, Dan Villarreal and Albert (Sherry McClune) Villarreal; four grandchildren; sisters, Gloria (Eleazar) Garza, Bertha (Mara) Sandoval, and Alicia (Jesus) Serna; and numerous nieces and nephews.
