ORANGE GROVE, Texas - Maria Concepcion "Woody" Flores, 48, went to her Lord on Tuesday, May 1, 2007. Woody was born to Lionel R. Flores Sr. and Consuelo Rios Flores on July 31, 1958. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Gloria Flores Hinojosa and a brother, Jose Ignacio (Pepe) Flores Sr.

Survivors include two sisters, Rosa Elena (Apolonario) Flores Lopez of Orange Grove, Texas, and Consuelo (Joe Lopez) Flores of Alice, Texas; two brothers, Lionel (Melba) Flores Jr. of Garden Ridge, Texas, and Ruben (Norma) Flores of Orange Grove, Texas; seven nephews, David Hinojosa, Ruben Flores Jr., Carlos Lopez, Jose Ignacio (Pepe) Flores Jr., all of Orange Grove, Texas,Victor Lionel Flores of Garden Ridge, Texas, Robert Flores of San Antonio, Texas and Michael Flores of Seguin, Texas; four nieces, Diana Cunningham of Katy, Texas, Sandra Hinojosa and Roxane Flores, both of Orange Grove, Texas and Melba Crystal Flores of Garden Ridge, Texas; six grandnieces, Brandy and Amber Ross, both of Orange Grove, Texas, Leah and Emily Flores, both of San Antonio, Texas, and Marina and Marrisa Flores, both of Seguin, Texas; and three grandnephews, Dylan Flores of Seguin, Texas, and Jose Ignacio "L.T." and Achilles Alexander, "Double A" Flores, both of Orange Grove, Texas.

Woody will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She was a beautiful person. She was daddy's little girl, and she is resting now after a long illness.

A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m., Thursday, May 3, 2007 at Walker-Mora Funeral Home in Alice, Texas. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Friday, May 4, 2007 at St. John of The Cross Catholic Church in Orange Grove, Texas, with burial to follow at Casa Blanca Cemetery in Orange Grove.

Moreno

ALICE, Texas - Rosa Maria Trejo Moreno, 80, died Wednesday, May 2, 2007 in a Corpus Christi hospital after a sudden illness. Born in Duval County, Texas, she was a resident of Alice and a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Felix and Martina Gonzalez Trejo and her son, Clemente Moreno.

Survivors include her husband, Juan De Jesus Moreno of Alice, Texas; a daughter, San Juanita Moreno of Alice, Texas; four sisters, Delfina (Locadio) Arredondo of San Diego, Texas, Cleotilde (Ramon Sr.) Villarreal of Elgin, Texas, Evangelina Martinez of Ojo Caliente, N.M. and Oralia Arriola of Houston, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Nicho Arredondo Jr., Leo Trejo Jr., Jerry Contreras Jr., Beto Moreno, Patrick Thomas and Quisto Romeo Trejo.

A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m., Thursday, May 3, 2007 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Alice. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:30 p.m., Friday, May 4, 2007 also at St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial to follow at San Diego Cemetery in San Diego, Texas.

Rivera

ALICE, Texas - Juan Ramon "Johnny" Rivera, 49, passed away May 1, 2007 in a Corpus Christi hospital. He was a laborer all of his life. He was preceded in death by his father, Pedro G. Rivera; and by two brothers, Pedro Rivera Jr. and Jimmy Rivera.

Survivors include two daughters, Veronica Rivera and Amy Lona Rivera, both of San Diego, Texas; his mother: Lona Rivera of Willard, Ohio; four brothers, Donnie (Evita) Collins of San Diego, Texas, Rene (Nora) Rivera of Alice, Texas, Valentin Rivera of Freer, Texas, and Jose Oscar Rivera of Driscoll, Texas; two sisters, Jeanette Hayes of Willard, Ohio, and Evangelina Jara of Driscoll, Texas; two granddaughters, Alexia Rivera and Makayla Zapata; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 3, 2007 at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home in Alice. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, May 4, 2007 at St. Francis De Paula Catholic Church in San Diego and burial will follow at the San Diego Cemetery.

Zarate

ALICE, Texas - Manuel "Memo" Zarate Jr., 53, died Thursday, April 26, 2007 in a Boston, Mass., hospital from injuries sustained in an accident. He was a Foreman/ Superintendent for CBI-Chicago Bridge Industries. Manuel was a 1971 Alice High School graduate and a U.S. Air Force veteran.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Zoila R. Zarate and a brother, Jose Antonio "Tony" Zarate.

Survivors include his father, Manuel Zarate Sr. of Alice, Texas; two sisters, Loretta Zarate of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Magda Z. (Luis) Luna of Alice, Texas; a brother, Mario (Marisela) Zarate of Alice, Texas; an uncle, Humberto (Anne) Reyna of Amelia County, Va.; an aunt, Antonia Reyna of Corpus Christi, Texas; special friends, Gene Kiesow of Cullman, Ala., and Ms. Jacki Hendrickson of Houston, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m., Friday, May 4, 2007 at Walker-Mora Funeral Home in Alice. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 5, 2007 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Alice with military burial of cremains conducted by The United Veterans Burial Association of Alice at New Collins Cemetery in Alice.
