CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - Guadalupe DeLuna, 83, passed away February 27, 2008 at his son's residence in Corpus Christi after a long illness. He had been a resident of Corpus Christi since 1973. He was a U. S. Navy veteran, having served during WWII. He was retired from the Army Depot in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 39 years, Herlinda Aleman De Luna; and his second wife of 10 years, Janie Silvas Quiros De Luna. He was a devoted loving husband to both.
Survivors include his son, Armando (Sally) DeLuna of Corpus Christi, Texas; one brother, Pablo DeLuna of Laredo, Texas; six grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Visitations will begin at 3 p.m. Friday, February 29, 2008 at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home Chapel in San Diego with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. that evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday March 1, 2008 at St. Francis De Paula Catholic Church in San Diego. Burial will follow at the San Diego Cemetery.
Military graveside services will be conducted by the United Veteran's Burial Association and the San Diego VFW Post #8931.

ALICE, Texas - Martin Lopez, 60, passed away February 27, 2008 in a Corpus Christi hospital after a sudden illness. He served as an Altar Boy in Harlingen, Texas. He was also a Navy Vietnam veteran, serving from 1967 to 1969. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon, and Vietnam Service Medal. Martin worked for Fleming Foods for 11 years, Wal-Mart, TCI Cable, FDF, and 10 years for Port Aransas Family Center.
He was preceded in death by his father, Hilario Lopez Sr. and a nephew, Ismael Juarez Jr.
Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Sylvia Ramos Lopez of Alice, Texas; one son, Raul "Sonny" (Melissa) Vela III of Alice, Texas; two daughters, Bianca (Norby Everett) Lopez of Alice, Texas, and Carrie (Rudy) Flores of Harlingen, Texas; mother, Maria Reyes Lopez of Harlingen, Texas; three brothers, Adan Lopez of Harlingen, Texas, Hilario (Adelina) Lopez Jr. of Round Rock, Texas, Juan (Sylvia) Lopez of Bastrop, Texas; two sisters, Eva (Angel) Bousono of Gray, Ind., and Lydia (Adan) Garcia of Los Fresnos, Texas; his parents-in-law, Oscar and Alicia Ramos of Alice, Texas; and seven grandchildren, Alyssa, Clarissa, Marissa, Matthew, Raul IV, Haley and Madison.
Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Friday, February 29, 2008 at the Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home in Alice, Texas. A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. that evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. on March 1, 2008 at St. Joseph Catholic Church and burial will follow at the Roberson Collins Cemetery with military graveside services by the local United Veterans Burial Association of Alice.

PREMONT, Texas - Eloisa Yzaguirre, 93, passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at a Kingsville, Texas, hospital. She was born on April 7, 1914 in Tienditas Community, Duval County, Texas, to Genoveva and Juan Canales. She was one of 13 children.
Survivors include her husband of 71 years, Raul Yzaguirre of Premont; three sons, Paul (Maggie) Yzaguirre of Premont, Noe (Elizabeth) Yzaguirre of Houston, Texas, and Israel (Beverly) Yzaguirre of San Antonio, Texas; two daughters, Lydia (Francisco) Almaraz of San Antonio and Eve (Glenn) Hayes of Albuqueruqe, N.M.; three sisters, Elodia Gonzalez of Rios, Texas, Estela Garcia of Tienditas Community, Texas, and Ester Gonzalez of Rios, Texas; 24 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
A prayer service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday, February 29, 2008 at Alaniz Funeral Home in Falfurrias, Texas. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2008 at the Alaniz Funeral Home with burial following in the Premont Cemetery of Premont, Texas.
