Anna Jane Tate “Jackie” Terrell entered into rest on September 17, 2017, wife of the late George Carl Terrell, Jr. Anna is a native of Sunset, Louisiana and has lived in Evans, Georgia for the past 11 years coming from Alice, Texas.
She was a member of St Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in Grovetown, Georgia, where she was active in The Prayer Shawl Ministry, and the Alter Society Guild. She spent the majority of her life in Alice and was an active member of St Elizabeth’s Catholic Church and St Elizabeth Private School, Alter Society and Eucharistic Minister. She also headed Catholic Social Services and Trash and Treasure. She retired from the American Red Cross and was also known as “The Red Cross Lady” in and around South Texas. Jackie was always available to anyone in need. She was a “Second Mom” to all of her children and grandchildren’s friends.
A funeral Mass will be recited on Friday, September 22, 2017 at 10 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Grand Coteau, LA with burial to follow at the church cemetery. There will be a Rosary said at St Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in Grovetown Georgia on Wednesday, September 20, 2017.
She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Collette Galloway of Evans, GA; Anna Jane Peel, Martinez, GA; Elizabeth Marie Hackfeld (Darrell Hackfeld); sons; George Carl Terrell, III; Adam Tate Terrell; Daniel Perry Terrell; sister, Virgie Tate Acosta (Steryl Acosta); 20 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren and one deceased granddaughter.
