Ray Gonzalez was born on June 23, 1975 to Anatolio Gonzalez and Rosalinda “Rosie” Perez Gonzalez, in Alice, TX. He passed away June 19, 2017 at the age of 41. Ray was a loving son, brother, and friend to all that knew him and was known for his outgoing and spontaneous personality.
He had a great love for gambling and fishing; but most importantly, spending time at family gatherings where he enjoyed playing jokes and making people laugh. He is best remembered for his caring heart and loving nature and he always put others before himself. Ray was a kind son, loving father, and brother; he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Higinio Frank Perez and Adan Gonzalez; brother, Robert Lazos; uncles, Arnoldo Perez, Higinio Abel Perez; and cousin, Elda De La Garza.
Left behind to cherish his memory is his family: mother, Rosie Gonzalez and stepfather, Charles La Rose; father, Anatolio (Judy) Gonzalez; daughters, Rayleen Gonzalez and Gabriella Gonzalez; sister, ErikaTrevino (Andrew); brother, Rick Gonzalez (Priscilla Gaza); aunts, Gracie (Antonio) Martinez, Laurie (Mike) Blaine, and Alma Perez; uncles, Raul Gonzalez (Katie) and Rodolfo (Diane) Gonzalez; nephews, Noah Gonzalez, Luke Gonzalez, and Rick Adam Gonzalez; niece, Heaven Garza; maternal grandmother, Zoila Perez; and paternal grandmother, Evangelina “Eva” Gonzalez.
The family will receive condolences on Friday, June 23, 2017, at Treviño Funeral Home, 120 E. Front St., from 4 to 9 in the evening; where a Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.
Funeral cortege will depart the funeral chapel at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 24, 2017, to St. Joseph Catholic Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 p.m.
Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Alice Cemetery.
