Roberto “Bobby” Rosales, 61, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and uncle passed away on May 14, 2017. He was born January 23, 1956 in Alice, Texas. He was a 1973 graduate of Alice High School. As a graduate of St. Joseph Catholic Church, he enjoyed serving his community churches by volunteering as an usher at St. Joseph Catholic Church and St. Elizabeth Catholic Church.

Bobby was retired from Corpus Christi State School. He was employed by Alice Independent School District as a para-professional. During his time as a para-professional he developed a passion for coaching and working with students, and took pride in ensuring the success of his kids. He was also a charter member of the “Lot”. Bobby was known for his witty humor, his ability to tell jokes, and he always knew how to put a smile on your face. He loved spending time with family, especially his granddaughters and friends, and was always ready to help anyone. As an avid sportsman he enjoyed hunting and fishing. His adventures include elk hunting in Colorado and skydiving. One of his favorite pastimes was backyard barbecuing. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Brigido Q. and Berta G. Rosales; his brother Luis Arturo “LA” Rosales, paternal grandparents: Matias Rosales and Felicitas R. Aguilar; maternal grandparents: Ambrosio G. and Maria M. Garza, and nephew Oscar Ricardo Flores.

He is survived by his son Roberto “Robby” Rosales; sisters Judy R. Flores, Gloria B. Rosales and brothers Rene Javier (Blanca) Rosales, all of Alice and Carlo Rosales of Austin, granddaughters LeeAnna Marie Rosales, Jalyn Nicol Rosales, and EmmaLee Angeline Rosales; aunts Santos R. Ybarra of Austin, Esmeralda M. Garza of Alice, Anna (Miguel) Valadez of New Braunfels, and Consuelo (Luis) Solis Crespo from Austin.

Pallbearers are Marcus Javier Rosales, Luis Daniel Rosales, Steven Andrew Flores, Adrian Rene Rosales, Arnoldo Jose “AJ” Ramirez, Renato Ramirez, Mario Salinas and Ricky Soliz Mario Salinas and Ricky Soliz.

The family will receive friends and family beginning at 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Rosas Funeral and the Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday May 18, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial follows at New Collins Cemetery of Alice, Texas.
