Juliana Idolina “Lina” Cavazos – 85 years of age left this world to meet her Lord on Friday May 5, 2017 Richardson, Texas in a nursing facility. She lived in San Antonio and then in Dallas, Texas in her last few years.

She was originally born and lived in Alice for most of her life. Lina graduated from Alice High School and worked at the Jim Wells County Clerk’s office. She is, however, mostly remembered as the owner of Lina’s Gifts and Flowers that was located on south Reynolds Street in Alice. Lina loved flowers and her friendships in the community. She was very active at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with the Divine Mercy Chaplet devotion as well as being an Extraordinary Minister at Mass among other ministries.

Lina is preceded in death by her siblings, Juanita Cavazos Salinas, Juan “Sonny” Cavazos and Diana Cavazos Lawler. She leaves behind many memories for her nieces and nephews to cherish.

Viewing will be held Saturday May 20, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with a Rosary and Divine Mercy Chaplet to be recited at 1:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Lina will be laid to rest at the New Collins Cemetery following the Mass.
