He was a member of St. Pius X Mission in Sandia, Texas and was President of the Sandia Volunteer Fire Department. He was a huge sports fan, supporting the Orange Grove Bulldogs, the Calallen Wildcats, and University of Incarnate Word Cardinals. His happiness revolved around his wife and all of his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Mauro Perez, Jr.
Abel will forever be in the heart of his loving wife, Elizabeth of Sandia; his mother, Altagracia Perez of Sandia; four brothers, Ramiro Perez, Mario (Sandra) Perez and Daniel Perez all of Sandia, and Enrique Perez of Corpus Christi; two sisters, Adelaida (Rey) Ochoa of Sandia and Josefa (Ben) Aleman of Beeville; his mother- and father-in-law, Joe and Eloisa Gonzales of Orange Grove; sister- and brother-in-law, Yvonne (Leonard) Garza of Calallen and Joey (Jennifer) Gonzales of Orange Grove; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
