SAN DIEGO - Cesar Chapa, age 57, passed away February 14, 2017 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was born in San Diego, Texas on June 16, 1959 to Juan and Modesta Chapa. He enjoyed being around his family and friends, attending horse races, listening to music, dancing, and making jokes. He worked for the oil industry for many years. He will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Modesta and Felipe Arredondo; his father, Juan Chapa; maternal grandparents, Matias and Maria Luisa Briones; paternal grandparents, Epimanuel and Genoveva Alfrido Chapa; and the mother of his children, Marta Morin.

He is survived by his three sons, Cesar Morin (Stacy), David Morin and Victor Morin all of Michigan; two brothers, Emilio Chapa and Felipe Arredondo Jr. (Sandra) both of San Diego, Texas; three sisters, Elsa Bazan (Gilbert) of Pleasanton, Texas, Norma Guajardo (Guillermo) and Ida Arriaga both of San Diego, Texas; 12 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 17, 2017 beginning at 5:30 p.m. at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church in San Diego with a Rosary being recited at 7 p.m. that evening. On Saturday, February 18, 2017 a visitation will begin at Rosas Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. prior to funeral mass. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 12:30 p.m. at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church in San Diego, Texas. Burial to follow at San Diego Cemetery.
