Leonor “Lolita” Uribe Rangel, 97 years of age, passed away January 1, 2017 in Alice, Texas. She was born April 26, 1919 in Los Reyes Community of Duval County to Zaragosa and Refugia Reyes Uribe. Lolita was a housewife who enjoyed gambling and attending bingos. She had a love for sewing, quilting and taking care of her plants. Lolita would faithfully recite the Holy Rosary every night before going to bed. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Zaragosa Uribe and Refugia Uribe; her husband, Pedro T. Rangel, daughters, Irma Rangel Delgado, Lucinda Rangel Denham, and San Juanita Rangel Martinez; son Roque Rangel; grandchild, Joanna Montoya; brothers, Gilberto Uribe, Alonzo Uribe, Jose Maria Uribe, Euquerio Uribe, Sigifredo Uribe, and David Uribe; sisters Maria Lichtenberger, Sobaida Ruiz and Delia Trevino; sons in law, Viviano Delgado, Ambrosio Martinez, and Jesus Canales.

Lolita is survived by her daughters, Lydia Rangel (Jaime) Saenz of Carrizo Springs, Texas and Raquel Canales of Alice, Texas; 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held Tuesday January 3, 2017 from 4 to 9 p.m. at Rosas Funeral Home Chapel with a Holy Rosary recited at 7 p.m. that evening. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Wednesday January 4, 2017 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church of Alice. Burial will follow at Los Rangeles Cemetery in Duval County .
