A 56-year-old Alice man, Ramon Gonzalez, was arrested Sunday for indecency with a child, after he allegedly exposed himself to a female family member.

According to Alice Police Department reports, an 8-year-old girl was visiting relatives at the home on Hill Street on Sunday when she went outside the home and informed a female adult family member in the yard that a Gonzalez had exposed himself to her in the home.

The child was sent back into the home, but later returned and informed the woman that Gonzalez had again exposed himself to her.

Police were called to the home shortly before 6 p.m. Sunday, but Gonzalez could not be located inside the home.

After searching the property, officers determined he had locked himself in a utility shed behind the home, according to reports.

Officers and other family members used a tool to break the lock, and Gonzaelz was located inside the shed.

Gonzalez was arrested and charged with two counts of indecency with a child.

He was transported to the Jim Wells County jail, where he remained Monday on $10,000 bond.

Officials with the Alice Police Department said Monday the child has been referred to the Children's Advocacy Center for counseling, and an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
