Alice ISD school board members will hold a special meeting today beginning at 7:30 p.m. to discuss and approve a competitive sealed proposal for the construction of the new William Adams Middle School.
The district has spent more than two years planning to get to this point of the project.
Once a contractor is approved, the construction on the estimated $20 million project is expected to take from 14 to 18 months to complete.
The architectural firm of LaMarr Womack and Associates has worked closely with the school district, to try to minimize cost, yet still produce a structure that will benefit the students of AISD well into the future, officials said.
The board will then go into closed, executive session concerning administrative personnel appointments.
Afterward, the board will reconvene in open meeting to consider and take action as necessary on the items discussed in closed session.
