Special meeting is set for Friday at courthouse

A special meeting for the Commissioners' Court is set for Friday at 9 a.m. at the Jim Wells County courthouse.
The agenda includes items to consider the burn ban for the county, authorizing the county to sell all surplus items at the next sheriff's public auction, consider amending the 2007 budget to allow for transfer of funds from the general and the road and bridge fund into the bridge Precinct 1 fund, consider approving the addition of vision insurance for county employees, consider increasing the insurance coverage stipend for county employee's dependents effective Jan. 1, 2008, and discussing a funding request by La Paloma Emergency Medical Services.
The court will go into Executive Session to discuss and consider approving of property located at 506 East First Street for courthouse expansion.
The court will return to open session to approve the court cost fee schedule for 2008 and review the county auditor's, treasurer's report and other monthly reports.
The meeting is open to the public.
