Council will hear about skate park, other projects

The Alice City Council will hear various reports at today’s 6:30 p.m. meeting at City Hall.

Among the items to be discussed include the delinquent tax collection report, a Tejano ROOTS request for aid, a report on skate park liability and other items.

The meeting is open to the public.

Among the agenda items are:

Presentation of Certificate of Heroism to Oscar Delgado Sr. New employee introductions, public announcements and hearing of visitors. Status report from the city manager concerning pending and prospective projects and general operations, including, but not limited to: P.S. Anderson Park restroom construction; joint meeting with Alice Independent School District regarding school crossing guards; Parks Master Plan update; Senior Citizens Facility; and ditch grading within city limits. Consider and act upon authorizing the Alice Fire Department to submit an application and receive any grant award for a FEMA "Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER)" Grant for three front-line firefighters. Consider and act upon establishing new City of Alice boards, commissions or Committees and/or appointments to fill vacancies to City of Alice boards, commissions and committees, including, but not limited to the: Keep Alice Beautiful Commission; and Skate Park Feasibility Committee. Review and discussion of the 2006-2007 Fiscal Year Revised City Budget and the 2007-2008 Fiscal Year Proposed City Budget. Consider and act upon authorizing the city manager to adjust the Public Works' Department, Operations Division Salary Equity Plans pending a comprehensive study of salaries and wages.
