The City of Alice is hoping to make the city a little cleaner with help from local residents this Saturday during the annual Fall Operation Brightside.
Operation Brightside will begin at the Coyote Recycling Center Education Building at 9 a.m. on Saturday, and will end at the building at 2 p.m. Teams of volunteers will be assigned to several zones within the city, coinciding with five drop-off points that will be made available to the public.
Individual residents are urged to also use this time to clean in and around their homes, and to bring unwanted items and material to the drop-off points.
Items that will be accepted include trash, brush, furniture and appliances. There is no charge for dropping off items.
Sites accepting dumped material Saturday include the City of Alice Landfill, Sagewood Mall, the Precinct 1 Office at 1203 S. Highway 281, the Coyote Recycling Center at 103 West Third Street and the intersection of South Reynolds and Rankin Streets.
