Agua Dulce ISD board members will consider approving the 2007-2008 ADISD Students Handbook/Code of Conduct, which includes new items in both the dress code and rules for a closed campus at today's meeting beginning at 6 p.m.
The school district researched the option of a closed campus for students in ninth and possibly tenth grade for several months.
The move, board members have said, is necessary to improve the level of safety for students, many of whom drive at dangerous speeds in an attempt to go eat lunch and get back to campus in time for class.
The trustees will also approve the 2006-2007 TAKS report and the accountability rating for 2007-2008.
Nonresident student transfers for the upcoming school year will also be considered during the consent agenda.
The board will go into closed session to consider a level three "FNG appeal" concerning a proposed student placement.
The FNG is the official parent/student grievance process. There are four levels of appeal.
Level one is a parent or student appeal to a local administrator, level two involves a meeting with a head administrator or superintendent and level three is an appeal to the school board concerning a grievance.
A level four FNG appeal is a reconsideration of the board's level three appeal.
The board will reconvene in open session to take action, if necessary on the appeal.
