Recent high school graduates heading to Coastal Bend College in Alice or Beeville now have a new opportunity to receive math remediation through the Developing Bridges to Student Success Program.

CBC will host a free summer math session for students preparing to enter college-level math courses in the fall.

The courses will begin on the Alice and Beeville campuses July 9 and run through Aug. 14. Students who participate can earn vouchers for up to $350 towards fall enrollment at CBC. Spacing is limited in the program, but there are still openings for both campuses. To sign up, contact Mary Kay Best at 361-354-2402 or 361-354-2304, or submit an application at under "Developing Bridges to Student Success."

There are incentives in place at each level of the program to motivate students. After one level of remediation, students will earn $150 in vouchers for fall enrollment, $250 for those who complete two levels and $350 for those students who are college-math-ready by the end of the program.
