Two adults and one juvenile were arrested for arson early last Thursday morning after allegedly throwing a bottle filled with gasoline into a parked car on Beam Station Road.
Ovidia Buentello reported to Jim Wells County Sheriff's Deputies that her vehicle had been set on fire by occupants of a white Chevy Malibu.
Officers found pieces of a broken bottle, along with a rag they believe was used to ignite the contents of the bottle as a fuse for the "molotov cocktail." The victim was able to extinguish the fire with water from a garden hose.
The suspect vehicle was seen one hour later by Alice Police Department officers on traffic duty.
The driver, Gloria Jones, Eduardo Rodriguez and one 16-year-old boy were arrested for arson. A red gas can with fuel was found in the back seat of the Malibu.
After he was booked at the Jim Wells County jail, Rodriguez made a written statement that the juvenile had been the one to fill and ignite the bottles and that it was the juvenile who threw the bottle at Buentello's car, according to Deputy Mark Martinez's report.
Jones did not wish to provide a written statement.
