An Alice man was transported to CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Alice Wednesday after he was involved in a single-vehicle rollover accident on Highway 44 just west of Alice.

Department of Public Safety troopers on the scene said Adan Trevino, 55, of Alice, was traveling in his tan Mercury Grand Marquis westbound on Highway 44 shortly after 5 p.m. Wednesday when the car veered into the right shoulder of the roadway.

The car reportedly struck a drainage culvert along the roadway and went airborne, rolling over at least twice, before landing on its roof.

Trevino, the only person in the car at the time of the accident, was transported to the hospital with unspecified injuries.
