The Nueces County Extension Office has a new face working in the Family and Consumer Sciences program.
Rusty Hohlt assumed the Family and Consumer Sciences agent position today. It was previously held by Karen Vaughan, who retired at the end of August.
Hohlt transferred from Bee County where she had been a Family and Consumer Sciences agent since January of 2005. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Family and Consumer Sciences from Texas State and a Master of Education degree from Texas A&M Kingsville.
Hohlt was successful in addressing the needs of clientele in Bee County with innovative programs like Walk Across Texas, Diabetes Education, Better Living for Texans Nutrition Education, Parenting Education and Youth Development.
The Nueces County office said she is viewed as "one of the rising stars among extension agents in Texas and will bring a new perspective and a high level of creativity to the county."
