Pageant is Saturday

The Second Annual Junior Miss Freer Pageant will be held Saturday in the Freer High School auditorium at 7 p.m.

The "Pirates of the Caribbean"-themed event is directed by Angel Ybanez and is sponsored by the Freer Chamber of Commerce.

Serena Martinez, the first Junior Miss Freer named last year, will crown the new winner.

Competing for the title are Jaclyn Lorette Bigley, daughter of Tom and Debbie Bigley, sponsored by Murdoch Sales and Service, LLC.; Tiffany Richelle Salinas, daughter of Alvaro and Rachel Salinas Jr., sponsored by Arnold's Qwik Wash; Hollie Whitley, daughter of Kenny and Jami Whitley, sponsored by H and K Service, LLC.; Raylee Michelle Elder, daughter of Darrell and Veronica Elder, sponsored by Freer Insurance Agency and the Ronnie Garza family; Alanah Danielle Saenz, daughter of Kathy Saenz, sponsored by Ramco Oilfield Services; Alyssa Huey, daughter of Ricky and Melissa Huey, sponsored by CDI Energy Services; and Rachel Maldonado, daughter of Alonzo Maldonado Sr. and Clarissa Lopez, sponsored by Jim Acker and Duval Lease.

Presale tickets are available at the Brush Country Bank, Gallery Quality Motors and the chamber office for $5. Tickets at the door will be $7. Admission will be free for children under age one.
