Looking for that perfect dress for a wedding or an outfit for the holidays? Then look no further as the Alice Counseling Center is hosting its annual fashion show Thursday beginning at 6:30 p.m.
"Our theme is silver for our 25th anniversary," said Dorella Elizondo, chairman for the fashion show. "It's our silver gala, Italian style."
The annual fashion show will feature more than 50 models featuring evening dresses from Wedding Lace, childrens attire from Kids Kloset, mother and daughter wear from Fashions on the Go, women's apparel from Especially For Me and junior clothing from Wal-Mart. The fashion show will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall with a sit-down dinner served by Mario Bernal's catering. The show will get underway at about 8 p.m.
Tickets and tables are available for individual seats at $25 or a table for $250 and runway tables at $500.
"We have two runway tables left," Elizondo said. "We want to remind and let the people know that if they had a table last year and want to come back to call us."
Elizondo said they could contact her at 668-3800 or the Alice Counseling Center at 664-8829.
The fashion show is the only fundraiser for the center and Elizondo said organizers hope to raise about $10,000 to offset and match grant monies provided by the United Way.
"This money is used for people who don't qualify for any program and we don't want to turn anybody away," Elizondo said. "Mental health is very important…it affects the entire family."
Nena Pitts and Javier Ramos host the show on Thursday.
"It's our silver anniversary and the money we raise will provide counseling for all ages for Jim Wells County and the surrounding areas," Pitts said.
The show will also highlight a silent auction and raffle; tickets can be purchased at the time of the show. Elizondo said prize donations are still welcome.
"If you cannot attend, but would like to contribute, that would be wonderful," she said.
