A suspect was arrested and a small amount of illegal narcotics was seized from a home on the southside of Alice Friday, during a raid executed by the Jim Wells County Task Force.

The Alice Police Department/Jim Wells County SWAT Team executed a "no knock" search warrant on a home in the 300 block of Sidbury Street shortly after 5:30 p.m. Friday.

Officers reportedly discovered a small amount of cocaine and a small amount of marijuana on a suspect in the front yard of the home.

APD Chief Danny Bueno said Friday the operation was the result of a three-month investigation, and the house was a suspected drug dealing location.

The suspect, Jaime Benavides, 31, a resident of the home, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana.

He was transported to the Jim Wells County jail and remained in jail Saturday on a $10,250 bond.
