A Crime Stoppers tip netted a wanted man in about 15 minutes Thursday.

Alice police arrested a man accused of sexual assault who was profiled the day before on the "Top 10 Most Wanted" list by the county.

At about 11 a.m. Cpl. Michael Hinojosa received a tip on his Crime Stoppers Blackberry as he was heading to Austin on police work. The tipster gave Hinojosa information about Arnoldo Carlos Garcia's whereabouts. He was wanted on charges of sexual assault of a child.

Hinojosa and investigator David Valadez put the process in action and contacted Lt. Joe Martinez with the sheriff's department to make contact with the wanted suspect.

"We called Joe Martinez and he called me back in about 15 minutes that they had him," Hinojosa said.

Garcia was arrested near Alfred on Highway 359 and taken to the Jim Wells County jail where he is being held on a $50,000 bond, officials said.

"This would have never happened if it weren't for our Blackberry tips," Hinojosa said. Anyone with information about any illegal activities can contact Crime Stoppers of South Texas, Inc. hotline at 664-STOP or log at www.stxtipscom.
