Three separate accidents within one minute happened Monday during the lunch hour rush, but no injuries were reported, said Patrolman Hector Perez with the Alice Police Department.

The first accident occurred at Texas Boulevard and Front Street, the second happened about 30 seconds later at the intersection of Flournoy Road and East Main and the third was reported 30 seconds after the second accident in front of Pueblo Tires at the intersection of Medical Center Boulevard and East Main Street. Perez said the three accidents resulted in no injuries and took place during the lunch hour rush.

"Everybody is in a hurry," Perez said.

A Buick LeSabre and Ford F-150 collided at the intersection of Flournoy Road and East Main Street Monday just before 1 p.m., police said. No injuries were reported, but both vehicles sustained damage to their front areas.

The truck, driven by David Johnson Jr., was traveling west on Main Street about to turn left on Flournoy Road as the car, driven by Hilda Lerma, was traveling east on Main Street, police said.

The vehicles collided as Johnson attempted to make the left turn, police said. Perez said it was not determined who was at fault because they both had the green light.

"The light turned yellow and (Johnson) decided to go and collided," Perez said.
