The Alice City Council has a full agenda Thursday, with items including a public hearing on garbage and brush pickup, approval of a taxi cab franchise, approval of the city's Parks Master Plan and the hiring of an engineer to implement the $9.6 million bond improvements to the city's water and wastewater infrastructure.
The Alice City Council meeting will begin in the Council Chambers at Alice City Hall at 6:30 p.m. The meeting is open to the public.
Among the items on Thursday's agenda are:
Hear and discuss status report from city manager concerning pending and prospective projects and general operations. Consider and act upon authorizing Dan Stiefel, DSGS Transportation, LLC, d/b/a "Green-N-Go Cabs," to begin a taxicab business pending the three readings of the Franchise Ordinance. Conduct a public hearing on proposed boundaries for the City of Alice garbage and brush/mixed debris pickup. Review citizen petition for wastewater services on Beam Station Road from Highway 44/West Front Street to San Felipe Street/Corina Street. Consider and act upon entering into negotiations for lease/purchase agreement for H.E.B. building and/or parking lot on Adams between Main and First streets, should Jim Wells County not purchase said property. Consider and act upon converting office space into an office for the Airport Manager and paying $200 per month to Mesquite Aviation for use of space and utilities.
