Two search warrants executed by the Alice/Jim Wells County Task Force Wednesday resulted in four arrests and the seizure of cocaine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

At 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, officers with the Alice Police Department and the Jim Wells County Sheriff's Department executed "no knock" search warrants in the 500 block of Schely Street and the 500 block of Angelina Street.

At the Schely Street location, officers seized a small amount of marijuana and cocaine, along with drug paraphernalia.

Two men, identified as Henry Bernal Sr., 36, and Henry Bernal Jr., 17, were arrested at the location.

Bernal Sr. was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana. Bernal Jr. was charged with possession of a controlled substance. Both men were released Wednesday on bond.

At the Angelina Street location, deputies discovered a small bag of cocaine.

A woman, identified as Valerie Ann Garcia, 23, was arrested at that location. She was charged with possession of a controlled substance and was released on bond.

While deputies were making that arrest, a man who lived at the residence reportedly began struggling with officers in an attempt to prevent them from arresting Garcia. Alfredo Garcia Jr., 26, was also arrested and charged with assault on a public servant. He was released on bond Wednesday.
