For fun, lights and festivities this Fourth of July season, look no further than the Jim Wells County Fairgrounds this Saturday for the city's Fireworks Fandango, beginning at 4 p.m.
There will be music, various food vendors and contests going on throughout the day and into the night, leading up the firework display at 9 p.m.
Admission is free.
The display will last 25 minutes.
The celebration will wrap up by midnight.
Alice Fire Marshal Patrick Thomas said firefighters will be on site to ensure a safe viewing experience for the public.
"We will have firefighters on standby there. We normally have brush trucks on the field in case of any falling material on the grass," Thomas said.
He will be conducting meetings this week with both city and firework official to coordinate a plan for this year's fandango.
