An alleged San Diego robber who held up an establishment in Robstown was spotted by Alice police and arrested Monday morning on Grace Street.
"He was hiding between some vehicles," said Officer Jason Charles with the Alice Police Department and gang unit division.
"We were making contact with a couple of people in the unit and he poked out his head at the wrong time."
Alejandro Lopez III, 41, was discovered after his 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier was found on Grace and Pierce streets at the government apartment complex about 10 a.m.
Lopez, from San Diego, was arrested on Nueces County warrants.
He is apparently linked to at least two robberies and has a $60,000 bond in Nueces County with charges of aggravated robbery. Police said that Lopez may be connected to other robberies in the area, including Alice.
He was picked up wearing flannel pajamas.
On Monday morning, he sat in the police department waiting to be transported to the Jim Wells County jail. He will then be transferred to Robstown police department.
"Our main objective was to arrest the person that committed the robbery," Alice Police Chief Danny Bueno said.
"With the holiday season, we are going to experience more robberies in the area."
