The Alice City Council is scheduled to meet this evening to discuss a number of items, including the $9.6 million bond to repair the city's water and wastewater infrastructure.
The agenda items related to the bond issue the council is scheduled to discuss tonight include the following:
Discuss, consider and act upon continuance of the financial advisory services of Estrada Hinojosa & Company, Inc. with the City of Alice, Texas and accept the Financial Advisory Contract and other matters related thereto. Discuss and consider an Ordinance authorizing the issuance, sale and delivery of $9.6 million in aggregate principal amount of "City of Alice, Texas, General Obligation Bonds, Series 2007," making provisions for the payment of interest instruments and procedures related thereto including a paying agent/registrar agreement, a purchase contract and an official statement; and declaring an effective date.
The council is also scheduled to discuss the following items tonight:
Presentation of Payroll Week Proclamation. Hear and discuss status report from city manager concerning pending and prospective projects and general operations, including, but not limited to: code enforcement relating to brush collection; public service channel; new water collection drive-thru window hours; upcoming Parks Master Plan meeting; crossing guard status; and city parking area electrical upgrade. Discuss, consider and act upon extension, upgrade and/or installation of utilities for commercial and residential development in the area of U.S. Highway 281 Bypass (Triple E Development) with delineation of: development agreement time limit; economic development expectations; development completion time limit; criteria and guidelines for economic incentives; termination of contract and reimbursement of expenses to the City of Alice. Conduct a public hearing and consider and act upon an ordinance rezoning 50' x 110' of Farm block 113, (Lot 8, Block 1, Kulchak Tract, Unrecorded) 604 Vicente Street, from B-3 business to R-3 Special Two-Family Residential. Consider and act upon entering into a "Paying Agent/Registrar Agreement" between the City of Alice and Wells Fargo Bank, N.A., authorizing Wells Fargo Bank to perform and serve as Paying Agent/Registrar. Consider and act upon appointments to fill vacancies to City of Alice Boards, Commissions and Committees: Skate Park Feasibility Committee and the Recycling Committee. Review and discussion of the 2006-2007 Fiscal Year Revised City Budget and the 2007-2008 Fiscal Year Proposed City Budget.
Today's meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at the Alice Council Chambers of Alice City Hall. The meeting is open to the public.
