A citywide Coyote pep rally will be held in the Alice High School Baseball Complex at 7:30 p.m. today.

There will be a burning "A" ceremony along with other homecoming festivities. Alice High School assistant principal Richard Gonzalez said that wide community support is important to the football players and other students who participate in spirit activities.

"The cheerleaders, Strutters and band students will be there. Public participation is always important. When the students see our side of the stadium filled on Fridays, along with a third of the visitors side, it means a lot to them," Gonzalez said. "It's great to have the backing of the entire community. When they're out there, it makes it that much more special."

Nearly 400 community members attended last year's homecoming pep rally, and Gonzalez hopes to see even more people from the community this year.
