A Pesticide Applicator Recertification Training will be held on Friday, Oct. 26, at the Texas A&M University Research and Extension Center located on Highway 44, 2.5 miles west of Corpus Christi airport. The training will begin with registration at 8:15 a.m. followed by the training at 8:30 a.m.
The morning session will include the following topics and speakers; "Pesticide Laws and Regulations Update" by Dr. March Matocha, Agriculture and Environmental Safety Specialist with Texas Cooperative Extension, "Fertilizer Management" by Dr. Mark McFarland, Soil Fertility Specialist, with Texas Cooperative Extension, and a session on "Herbicide Mode of Action" by Dr. Matocha. Participants can earn three CEU's from the morning session.
An afternoon session will begin at 1:30 p.m. and conclude by 3:30 p.m. with the following topics and speakers; "Pasture Weed and Brush Control" by Jeff Stapper, County Extension Agent - Agriculture and Natural Resources and "Updates on Pest Management Demonstrations" by Dr. Roy Parker, Extension Entomologist. Participants in the afternoon session can earn two CEU's.
