Sylvia Gomez, a Coyote fan who has a son playing football, was at the Memorial Stadium ticket booth Wednesday making sure she has a seat for the Friday night playoff game against Edcouch-Elsa.
"We plan on leaving Friday about three," she said as she purchased tickets for her family. "My son is ready to give it all he's got. We are so excited about going to the playoffs. I'm so happy for the boys."
Ticket sales have been steady since Tuesday for season ticket holders and the general public will get a chance to purchase tickets beginning today. Tickets began selling at 8 a.m. today through noon and again from 1 to 4 p.m.
Tickets will also be on sale Friday from 8 a.m. to noon. Tickets sell for $6 for reserved seating at the Northwest ticket booth at the Memorial Stadium.
The game begins promptly at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
To jump start Friday's football fever, a city-wide community pep rally will take place at 7 p.m. today at the Memorial Stadium.
The Coyote football players, coaches, Alice High School cheerleaders and Strutters will be on hand to cheer and raise the level of spirit as they get ready for the game.
About 3,200 reserved seats are available for Alice Coyote fans at the Edcouch-Elsa Yellow Jacket Stadium with a capacity of 8,500. The stadium is located at the intersection of Mile 4 and Mile 17 Road, just east of Edinburg.
"There's lots of seating, just come buy your tickets," said Carol Smith with the athletic department.
