Summer food service
Freer ISD will be providing meals as sponsorship of the Summer Food Service Program. Meals will be available at the Freer Junior High cafeteria and the Norman Thomas cafeteria Monday through Thursday only, June 4 until June 28. Breakfast will be served from 7 to 8 a.m. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for those from one to 18 years of age. People who are eligible to participate in the program must not be discriminated against because of race, color, national origin, sex, age, disability.
A two-day Horsemanship School Program will be held Monday, June 18 and Tuesday, June 19 at the residence of Adrian Perez in Freer from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The program is sponsored by the Texas Cooperative Extension and instruction regarding riding ability, skills improvements will be given by trained Horse Program Assistants. Participants should be able to ride a horse but are not required to be a member of 4-H. Cost to enroll is $40 for a limit of 20 students. Call Sam Gavito at 256-4591 or Adrian Perez at 207-0180.
