Alice police and Laredo Texas Rangers continue to investigate the deaths of a mother and her two sons at a home on the 600 block of St. Joseph Street who were stabbed to death.
The deceased are identified as Michelle Hughes, 41, Ivan Joshua Hughes, 19, and William Brian Hughes, 15, who was wheelchair-bound.
The homicides are number two, three and four for the year, officials said.
Investigators said they received a call of an individual laying on the ground around 3:30 Friday morning. All three died on the scene.
Police arrested the victim's common-law-husband, Felix Jesus Chapa, 24, at his residence in the 500 block of College Street, according to Alice police chief Danny Bueno.
The area around the small blue home where the incident occurred remains surrounded by yellow police tape, and officers are processing the scene.
Chapa has been charged with three counts of capital murder and has three bonds of $750,000 for a total of $2,250,000.
"It's terrible," Bueno said. "In my 35 years, this is the first time in history we've had three at one time."
