A juvenile boy was arrested on charges of assault causing bodily injury at Memorial Intermediate School Monday, following an incident involving another student.
Alice Police Chief Daniel Bueno said the department was called by Memorial's principal at 8:42 a.m. after the boy allegedly pulled a girl's sweatshirt from behind, inhibiting her breathing and creating redness around her neck area.
Alice police were at the scene along with a juvenile probation officer. The boy, after his arrest, was released by the probation officer into the custody of his mother, Bueno said.
The case is still being investigated.
On Tuesday, APD was called to William Adams Middle School, after a boy was seen running through the building with a piece of glass in his hand, threatening to kill himself, Bueno said.
The incident occurred at 12:22 p.m. on Tuesday. Police officers and juvenile probation officers arrived at the scene. The boy was not charged for the attempted suicide, but was picked up by his parents and taken for medical evaluation.
The boy allegedly committed some criminal mischief earlier in the day at WAMS, which is currently under investigation by the police department, reports said.
