Two men and a woman were arrested at Fifth and Highland streets in the early morning on Sunday and charged with four counts of burglary of a vehicle and engaging in organized criminal activity, police said.

According to police, Alejandro Gonzalez, 25, Roman Santos III, 22, and 23-year-old Bonnie Gallegos were arrested after police stopped the vehicle they were driving in for a traffic violation at 3:21 a.m. Sunday and police noticed some of the stolen goods in their vehicle.

Reports show four burglaries of several vehicles were reported at 120 South Aransas at 1:15 a.m., at 715 North Wright at 1:54 a.m., at 700 North Wright at 1:54 a.m. and at 1825 Clarice at 3:21 a.m.

During that four-hour span, the trio are alleged to have broken into a Chevy Blazer and took a black and gold purse with credit cards, a check book and a make-up bag. The trio then broke into a 1996 maroon Nissan Altima and apparently took a silver Kenwood stereo, then moved on to a 2005 Toyota and took some rings from the glove compartment, along with other items, police said. Then they burglarized a truck and took a wallet with credit cards, according to reports.

Police said Gonzalez has been arrested five times this year. The three are currently in the Jim Wells County jail and are facing charges of four counts of burglary with bonds set at $750 per count along with engaging in organized criminal activity with bond set at $5,000 each.

Police Chief Danny Bueno warns residents to be on the look out for suspicious persons in their area.
