A Corpus Christi woman heading back home was robbed at knife point while she was stopped at a convenience store off S. Highway 281.
Officers arriving on the scene Thursday night found she woman distraught and her hands shaking, according to the police report.
The victim told officers the stopped at the Citgo in order to use the restroom and throw some trash. She parked on the north side of the convenience store, and was leaned over looking under the passenger side seat of her car when an unknown man approached her.
The man was wearing light blue jeans and a white t-shirt. He carried a pocketknife, with a 3.5 to 4.5 inch blade, and demanded her money, according to the report.
She begged the man not to take her purse or wallet, since it had personal belongings such as her driver’s license and Social Security card. The man grabbed her purse, according to the report, dumping everything on the front passenger seat, then proceeded to open her wallet, which contained $120. The man grabbed the money and ran behind the store. The victim could only recall a general description of the man. He was Caucasian and was unshaven with brown bushy hair, the report states.
Officers searched the area behind the store and checked across a business yard nearby, but found no sign of the suspect. The case was filed and referred to the Criminal Investigation Division.
