An Alice man was arrested Thursday after he allegedly attempted to sneak several bottles of alcohol out of a local liquor store in his pants. According to Alice Police Department reports, officers were called to "The Jigger" liquor store in the 100 block of North Texas Boulevard at 6:29 p.m. in reference to an alarm.

Upon arrival, a store clerk told officers a man inside had stuffed several liquor bottles down his pants, according to the report.

When officers confronted the individual as he exited the store, he allegedly began running south and entered an alley between the store and Walgreens Pharmacy. As the suspect fled from officers, he reportedly took several bottles of liquor out of his pants and threw them to the ground in the alley. The subject, identified as Reynaldo Reyna, 41, of Alice, was captured and arrested. He was charged with theft over $500 and evading arrest and was transported to jail.

He remained in the jail Friday on $2,000 bond.
