Will discuss Barham's resignation

Jim Wells County Commissioners will consider on Monday accepting the resignation of Justice of the Peace Precinct 3 Elois Barham.

Barham delivered her letter of resignation early last week to County Judge L. Arnoldo Saenz, stating that after much thought and reflection she believed that the time had come for her to tender her resignation.

Barham has served 23 years as JP for Pct. 3, which covers the Sandia area and northern portions of Jim Wells County.

The court will also consider at the meeting entering into an interlocal agreement with the Region 4 Education Service Center for providing a cooperative purchasing program for goods and services.

Deputies' salaries for the County Clerk's office are on the agenda under consideration for a line item adjustment by commissioners, along with a presentation by JWC Health and Safety officers for a 2006 Safety Award.

The commissioners' will also consider bids for designation of a bank depository and consider declaring surplus county property as salvage property.
