Public invited to see new collections

The Duval County Public Libraries will hold an "Open House" at the main and branch libraries Sept. 11 to 13.

Library patrons are invited to come in to visit the county public libraries to view the new "Texas Book Festival Grant" additions to library collections.

Patrons can also learn more about the library Internet databases as well as computer software programs that are free. TexShare Library, Learning Express Libraries and Rosetta Stone are such databases that can be accessed.

Software programs, like Mavis Beacon typing class for all ages, are available for those who would like to learn to type. This event will be hosted by the Duval County Friends of the Library members.

Sept. 11: 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the Duval County-San Diego Public Library Sept. 12: 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the Duval County Freer Branch Library. A special presentation will be held at the Freer Branch at 6 p.m. Sept. 13: 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Duval County Benavides Branch Library
