Several stolen items including several firearms were recently recovered by Jim Wells County Sheriff's Department at a local pawn shop.

Through the unrelenting work of Sgt. Christopher Bowen the arrest of 38-year-old Emilio Garza was made in connection with the thefts on Friday, Nov. 2, according to Sheriff Daniel Bueno.

The thefts occurred in the Rancho Alegre were reported in August.

According to Sgt. Bowen, Garza was living with the victim and stole firearms, a cargo truck hitch and tools. The items were taken over a period of time and eventually discovered at the pawn shop.

Garza was charged with nine counts of theft of a firearm and a theft of property. He was released on Saturday, Nov. 3 on a $46,000 bond.
