PREMONT - Ricardo Rocha was arrested Wednesday in Premont in connection with a theft that occurred in Duval County.
According to Duval County Sheriff Romeo Ramirez, Rocha's arrest came as a result of an investigation into stolen property from the Rios area.
A Duval County Sheriff deputy responded to a call Sept. 18 on County Road 219 in reference to a theft. The deputy made contact with the reporting party and passed the case over to an investigator.
During the course of the investigation, Agent Moe Saavedra investigation discovered that some items stolen from the residence had been pawned at a business in Falfurrias.
A warrant was drawn up after the agent showed sufficient evidence for Rocha's arrest.
Agents from Duval County and Premont Police Department located Rocha at his residence on SW 4th Street in Premont
Rocha was transported to the Duval County jail and charged with theft of property.
