Burglary suspect arrested

On Sunday, Lorenzo Rodriguez was arrested on the 400 block of Cecilia Street after he attempted to assault a woman inside a home as was burglarizing. According to police, Rodriguez broke down the front door to make an entrance. He also broke a television. Rodriguez was taken to the Jim Wells County jail and charged with burglary of habitation with intent to commit other felony. He also had two outstanding warrants.

Suspicious man found with pistol

Christian Villagran was arrested Sunday near the intersection of Cecilia and Cameron Streets. An officer on patrol observed Villagran and conducted a roadside interview. Villagran told the officer, his girlfriend began to fight with him so he left her residence. The pat down for officer safety revealed a pistol with a loaded magazine, an extra magazine and a bag of synthetic marijuana. He was transported to the JWC jail. He was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of marijuana and public intoxication.

Crack cocaine found in cigarette pack

A traffic stop was conducted Saturday on the 1100 block of Washington Street with the driver of a Dodge pickup. The driver was identified as Juan Cuevas. Cuevas gave the officer consent to search his vehicle. During a pat down of Cuevas, the officer located a small rolled up paper with crack cocaine inside a pack of cigarettes. He was taken to the JWC jail and charged with possession of a controlled substance.
