Salvador Rios IV, who turns 8 in November, has been fighting a brain tumor since his diagnoses at the age of 2. Every step in his young life has been a struggle, but he hasn't been alone.

On Tuesday, Noonan Elementary staff and students presented Rios and his mom, Elena, with a $800 donation.

Rios' fellow classmates and Noonan staff raised $500 through a bake sale sponsored by the Student Council. The other $300 was from an anonymous donor.

Rios was diagnosed with a brain tumor at the age of 2. He has undergone chemotherapy, radiation and a bone marrow transplant in a San Antonio Hospital. He has had several brain surgeries and is currently fighting another brain tumor.

He just finished 20 rounds of radiation and will start his chemo again in November.
