Anthony Chapa was arrested Wednesday for allegedly burglarizing a vehicle on the 1100 block of Cobblestone.
Police were called out to the area. When they arrived, they were advised that two suspects had ran from the scene and were headed west.
Officer Julian Cavazos spotted Chapa and pursued him. He was found laying in the grass.
Chapa got up and attempted to jump a wooden fence. Chapa ignored commands to stop and was tased. The taser prongs struck him on the back side.
Chapa was handcuffed. However, he attempted to run from officers.
He was eventually transported to the Jim Wells County jail. He was charged with escape from custody, two counts of burglary of a vehicle, evading arrest and resisting arrest.
The suspect may be responsible to other burglaries in the area. This case and others are being investigated.
