SAN DIEGO - Two people were arrested on Monday evening near the intersection of King and Seguin Street.

Deputy Rico Rodriguez conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, 33-year-old Mark Anthony Alaniz, and 45-year-old Lora Lynn Everett.

During the roadside interview, the deputy learned that Alaniz was wanted for a warrant out of Jim Wells County.

A pat down of Everett by Deputy Ivanna Munoz revealed numerous clear plastic baggies that contained a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine.

Both individuals were arrested and transported to the Duval County jail.

At the county jail, Everett was found with a bag of cocaine on her.

Everett was charged with possession of a controlled substance and prohibited substance in a correctional Facility.

Alaniz is being held for Jim Wells County.
